Je viens de découvrir le service IRCCloud qui est une sorte de bouncer IRC en mode payant/gratuit. L’idée n’étant pas mauvaise du tout j’ai pris le temps de lire un peu et me rends compte, hélas, que c’est juste déplorable niveau vie privée.

8. User content

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and perpetual licence to use, copy, reproduce, distribute, adapt, re-format, modify, publish, translate, licence, sub-licence any images, sounds, text or information that you access, store, distribute or transmit (“User Content”) for the purposes of providing the Service.

 

Chat Logs

As part of the service, we log and archive all activity in channels you join and private messages.

We store these logs on a separate server cluster to the rest of the system, with no direct references to email addresses and personal data stored alongside them.

Your logs are not encrypted, because we send them back to you as plaintext, and we need to be able to index them for searching.
